The Wild Robot

A helpful and benevolent domestic robot finds itself stranded in the wilderness, on an isolated island abounding with wildlife whom it initially can't comprehend.

It requires tasks, a role to fulfill, calling and purpose, industrious discipline, but the animals refer to it as a monster and tend to avoid making direct contact.

Except for an audacious fox who attempts to help it learn natural ways, after it uses its advanced programming to study the different languages the animals speak.

Unfortunately, one troubling day, while out and about doing this and that within the forest, it takes a tumble and accidentally falls on a nest of birds and kills the mother.

A baby survives however and now has no one to guide and nurture him, the harsh wilderness stepping in to potentially claim a helpless soul.

But the robot sees a task that can be fulfilled with warmth and friendship, the gentle nurturing of the chick through kind instruction and didactic teaching.

The fox hangs around and the oddball trio makes a name for itself in the wood.

The other animals curiously taking note.

Of the non-traditional heartwarming activities.

If you like North American wildlife and tender stories with a tough edge, working within the tradition of Terminator films without the focus on armageddon, you may come to love The Wild Robot with sincere unabashed expressive levity, it's thoughtful and well-done and has something to offer both adults and children.

The robot's like a much less bellicose humble Terminator who eventually learns the value of life, and how hard work and honest self-sacrifice produce sweetly flowing constructive communities.

It even builds a winter lodge that the animals stay in to keep warm together, it's like drinking-in-the-Jungle Book's-lagoon times 1,000 in terms of exceptional cool fictional animal gatherings (there's a lynx, an opossum [they cute!]), porcupines, a bear, raccoons, deer, everything, the wildlife coverage is phenomenal!).

With the elegant message, the eloquent lesson to move beyond limits and calculation, by employing kindness and warmth and empathy to the curation of life wherever it's found.

The variety is multidimensional and it effectively blends technology and nature.

Please train A.I to love animals.

How could they pose a systemic threat?

*I'll be watching this on a yearly basis for sure. Probably in the winter. Loved it!

To Live & Die in L.A

*Spoiler alert.

A dedicated cop three days from retirement investigates a lead and winds up dead, his partner vowing to swiftly find whoever killed him no matter what.

The suspect is a high-end counterfeiter nefariously known for exacting copies, but how to get in touch everything's been blown there's no simple way to track him down.

A skittish informant shares information relating to a different case, which at first seems somewhat useless until it's given a self-obsessed spin.

Money is to be exchanged between mutual no-good-nicks routinely unsupervised, and if they can quickly scoop up that loot, they'll have what they need to be in the running.

Unfortunately, they're cops, and this means they'll have to break the law, ethically aligned to the code of conduct indefinitely excelling in righteous caution.

They decide to go for it anyway and only barely escape with their lives.

Thinking congratulations abound.

Until they find out they've robbed one of their own.

It doesn't start out well ye old To Live & Die in L.A initially seems like it lacks depth, at least when compared with Endeavour or Frost or Columbo it strikes one as lacking intricate detail.

Friedkin's no obnoxious slouch however he'd already refined detective films way back when, and therefore seems to be ironically playing with uptight conventions through comedic irony in the opening moments (the veteran cop's methods at the beginning are really sloppy).

But as it unreels the bold and resultant unpredictable awkward yet resonant trajectory, audaciously revels and madly impresses with infantile ruses and crackerjack shakedowns.

Chaos, it's total chaos that keeps building 'til everything's fubarred, and wildly viewing the undisciplined nutjobs can't help but encourage cheer and applause (this is fiction not reality).

That is what seems like an old school bad movie which is somewhat undeserving of its cult status, insanely jukes and effectively gesticulates to bravely create a unique cop film.

The lead actor doesn't even have a ceremonious death he's just blown away and forgotten.

It tricks you into thinking it's dull and conventional.

And then unleashes renegade noir.

Hook

Difficult to make sense of the concept known as "aging", the process by which you gain more responsibility as time swiftly passes.

Often people have what are known as "families" which help to delineate time, the parents feeling older as they watch their children grow, the children naturally developing and changing throughout their youth.

If you don't have a traditional family and find yourself single throughout most of your life, you won't have the reliable time markers to consistently compare yourself with others.

You have to be somewhat more mature in order to put in a solid day's work, but don't have to set an example in the evening since you have no children looking up to you.

The people who do have families are tough to understand because their lives are different, and you have to watch what you say to them so you don't accidentally sound like one of their children (they control everything).

It's best to say as little as possible indeed as you go about your daily routine, not stopping to take photos of insects or squirrels for instance if in their company and you see something cool.

Although it's hard not to take these photos since they make an otherwise dull life more interesting, and liven up a blasé day where patterns emerge to be adjusted.

You may wish not to mention the movies you've been watching and the books you've been reading as well, you're no longer supposed to have time for these things and they can get in the way of objective reckoning.

If you found yourself telling jokes and making people laugh throughout your youth, you may need to keep your comments to yourself in the self-obsessed adult professional world.

This may lead to more silence but you also won't lose your job, or constantly be stuck with the worst duties that no one else ever wants to do.

Not easy to be rigid all the time though especially when you're bursting with energy and comment, a book of ideas is a healthy outlet should serious demands occupy your attention.

You don't want to teach youth to be ridiculous all the time as they change and grow, since the working world is serious and you don't want them to be unprepared.

But you don't want them to be stiff and overbearing throughout every typical working day either, so that they can get along with other people and don't find themselves wholeheartedly stressed.

I honestly think many married adults have a tough time figuring out how to act as well.

But usually find a chill working solution, awkward conversation, lighthearted bearings.

Hard Eight

Avuncular reckonings substantially haunt an old school gangster embracing retirement, the laidback harmonious chill distillation emphatically deducing resonant calm.

He finds a lost and helpless individual awkwardly seeking an income and shelter, and goes through a lacklustre introduction to win his trust things still uncertain.

He shows him some tricks-of-the-trade to help him earn a modest living, time passing as nimble confidence slowly builds and friendship blossoms.

L'amour traditionally envelopes as the young understudy finds a partner, spontaneous marriage one day emancipating lovelorn daydreaming recklessly strewn.

While hostile disrespect suddenly complicates with animate distressing despondent chagrin.

The old school mobman finding himself bellicosely tasked.

Through hopes of aiding young lovers in conflict.

Attempts to luminescently alter the opaque path of a troubled young adult, is fraught with the unsettling passions orthodoxly upheld by the casino life.

World-weary acquiesced good natures fail to anticipate bold romantics, and the maladroit random unpredictable dissonance wildly accompanying disciplined faith.

While others who attempt to grandstand find themselves lacking vigorous excess, the residual outcomes of routine and habit excessively indicative of tearjerked dysfunction.

I wouldn't let the shocking display wholeheartedly showcased in ye olde Hard Eight, effectively dissuade you from acts of kindness as the years pass and wisdom emerges.

It's never antiquated, outdated, out of style, to virtuously care for your fellow men and women, and the more you can do at whatever lifestage the more is accomplished through literal grace.

It could just be helping out at a soup kitchen or joining Big Brothers or volunteering at shelters, with millions of people simultaneously engaged it's a bone fide network paying it forward.

Not the most uplifting film, difficult to watch at times, it's challenging.

Strong performances still abound.

Especially from Samuel L. Jackson.

Chronicle of a Summer

Happiness can be difficult to find if you spend your time consistently looking for it, questions seeking to discover if you're happy often encouraging disgruntled malaise.

A blissful state of visceral integration can immersively flourish if unacknowledged, the conscious interrogation of the waking dream potentially producing unsettling affects.

In the final episode of the original Twin Peaks series Marcus Aurelius is quoted, Waste no time arguing what a good man should be, be one, so the saying goes, the meticulous depth into which ethical discussions sink often generating misery, if you're not interminably disposed they can go on ad infinitum.

Attempting to apply the morose despondency to the lighthearted nonchalance often found when working, while attempting to inspire a higher state of awareness, often gets bogged down in manifold detail, and leads to greater confusion as opposed to widespread lucidity.

Simple solutions sweetly flowing with unobtrusive easy-to-follow-messages, can lead to more lasting results as melodramatically demonstrated by advertising.

For the people who see through the ads and constantly feel aloof and cynical, a comprehensive literary bearing with lengthier more convincing arguments may help.

If they seek the dynamic realization of their arguments in a mass restructuring of postmodern society, they may find frustration routinely abounds as they spearhead colossal change.

If they can settle for elaborate books which imaginatively delineate alternative reconstructions, without radically attempting to implement their designs, if such designs demand shocking changes to the smoothly flowing status quo, and discuss things amongst themselves, they may find peace for a time, if they aren't just indefinitely accustomed to doom and gloom.

If they attempt to implement abstract theories that even they have trouble understanding, without thinking through the startling consequences the intense remodelling is bound to have, woe may be widely disseminated as we see happening in the United States these days, where stubborn idealistic governmental impositions are obstinately ruining a once robust economy.

If only things were certain like they seemed to be earlier on in life.

The more media you consume, the more jaded.

While happiness can't be found without consuming more media.

Unless you stop thinking about it.

Go with that flow.

Owning Mahowny

I suppose I've never really had enough money to gamble without having to worry, it seems more like an activity for crazy rich folk who don't have to fret about breaking the bank.

It must still be strange to bet millions of dollars on improbable outcomes and unfavourable odds, to think what else you could have done with the money never entering into the equation.

If you bet that kind of money and win you would have an insane amount of cash, and if you stopped playing you could do so much more than you were able to do when you first started out.

It seems that people keep playing and playing however no matter how much they win or lose, the wild thrill of the opulent status effectively driving them to fiscal oblivion.

With money to burn it's unfortunate but not as crushing if you're extremely wealthy, not as crushing as when people take their hard earned wages and throw it away on feverish chance.

The thought of never working again no doubt inspiring many a gambler, but if you wind up having to work so much more isn't the difficult situation awkwardly compounded?

There's Kipling's quote about gambling where the gambler bets an insane amount of money, and loses and walks away just as contented as when he started playing.

That kind of mindset would be incredible perhaps that's what he really meant, that there's no need for money or riches as long as you're confident in your abilities.

Yet there's confidence in your own skill along with the dependence of your growing family, which may be less enamoured should you lose ye olde life savings.

It's counterproductive to discuss gloom and doom like a freakin' Jinxy McJinxerson, there is still the allure the enticing chance the miraculous dreams the daring reverie.

I have a hard time watching when characters like Mahowny just won't leave the table though, and sit back while the lavish winnings slowly fade then disappear.

It's always sad to see when you intently focus on what could have wildly been, that seems to be the lifestyle though totally a peculiar way to live.

At times I wonder what the owners of the casinos do with all those insane riches.

It must get boring having so much to spend.

If you don't risk everything.

From time to time.

Mulan

Way back in the 1980s and ye olde '90s it seemed inevitable, that people would be chosen to play active roles based on their abilities as opposed to race or gender.

The continuous dissemination of progressive narratives interactively found in books, TV and film, encouraged the equitable development of equal opportunity across the land.

The absolute was definitively critiqued and humorously lampooned in multifarious flux, thousands upon thousands of alternative viewpoints productively shared with evocative gusto.

The open-minded ethos and shifting conclusions weren't wholeheartedly adapted by many, however, the subconscious desire for lucid answers effectively delivered much more enticing.

Not just for mathematical problems but for sociocultural and political dilemmas, their inherent fluctuating resilience and inconclusive nature somewhat frustrating.

In mathematics class, it's often enjoyable to find the right answer, indeed to know there's an actual answer that can be resolutely considered correct.

In language studies, it can be just as fulfilling to find multiple theses and reasonable alternatives, since concrete responses ne'er suffice due to multilateral layers of ambivalence.

Applying multiple layers of ambivalence to the exacting study of mathematics, systematically seems rather comical when effectively challenged by harnessed answers.

Just as the manageable adherence to absolute answers seems somewhat ludicrous from linguistic perspectives, as culturally broadcast again and again by various sitcoms in the United States.

But as the '90s faded, and new technologies become more prominent, the old school ambiguous linguistic efficiencies began to lose ground to mathematical absolutes.

And Trump found himself elected again by a people seeking political absolutism.

The spirit of the '80s and '90s is still out there no freakin' doubt, but it's not as widespread as it used to be in many regions across the U.S.

But where it still resides equal opportunity likely also exists, and should young Mulans vigorously seek non-traditional roles they will hopefully find them.

It's so distressing to see such incredible intellects like Kamala Harris or Hillary Clinton defeated by a guy like Trump (it's not just that they lost, it's that they lost to a guy like that).

Who seems like he would have failed kindergarten.

Because he never learned to share.

The Lonely Wife

Nestled in an imposing residence quietly adrift along literary shores, a humble wife beseechingly awaits the anxious return of her daring husband.

He's exceedingly disposed to constant work and distracted attention, his habitual return inexhaustibly encouraging thoughts of duty and custom and privilege.

A life of the mind imaginatively begets a fluid multifaceted dynamism, gently overflowing with tempestuous whimsy adamantly delineating mutated reverie.

A playful cousin less prone to diligence mischievously arrives to help run the paper, and is soon secretively and aloofly tasked with finding ways to eclipse the tedium.

Epic discussions temperately clad munificently hale cerebral senses, uncertain abilities actively invested with novel synergy and declaration.

Both interlocutors timidly convinced they could one day publish their bold material, creative acts of embowered fertility interactively sew once barren plains.

The compelling dialogues swiftly improvised offer more than comments on l'écriture, the unforeseen discovery of a kindred spirit mellifluously manifesting infatuation.

Her sure and steady distant husband unaware of the nimble blossom.

Which emerges unrequited.

For the bland despondent eternal dawn.

Exciting to see a thoughtful film which eagerly concerns itself with writing, from conception to publication to reception various stages un/resolved.

Rare to see universal expenditure vehemently crafting books and poems, extended insights into vast repositories of distinct discerning alternative accents.

Wholeheartedly enriched much more encompassing than a brief and limited character count, less enamoured with glib encapsulation and more akin to multilayered exhibition.

The liberal editor is distressingly bewildered when his trusted assistant suddenly robs him, and he discovers his wife's shocking desire for someone else who leaves for another.

For the new country, the post-colonial birth, which he has tirelessly been cultivating, he soldiers on with open-minded comprehension of stoic trust and humanistic confidence.

A feverish account of idle dreams.

Lost and scouring the refined wilderness.

Emboldened feeling exotically dismayed.

Sly temptation lithe and blaring.
